Meeting commenced at 7:08.
Attendees: Vivian Baker, Peter Boccarielli, Hilde Caffrey, Brad Crerar, Christine Danilowicz, Michael DeLucia, Bob Estrom, Jean Estrom, Gary McNeil, Patti Panaroni, Geno Panaroni, Joe Panicali, Gerry Parisi, Merilee Baker Dzierlatka, Kristen Russo.
Secretary: Minutes from last general meeting were read and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report: The report was read and accepted.
Tax Collector’s Report: $3,260.00 collected. The following addresses are 3 or more years delinquent with their association dues. They are:

Trustee’s Report: As per our by-laws for a yearly audit, Gary McNeil and Geno Panaroni audited our current Treasury balance of $11,935.86.
Old Business:

Our Website is up and running. Our internet address is www.granitebayassociation.com

It was suggested to add a counter to our website to monitor it’s viewing.

The need for lower speed limit signs was addressed. After speaking with the police we cannot have a sign lower than 25 mph. Bumps are not allowed.

The poison ivy in the park was addressed and eradicated.
-
A trash can was acquired for the park.
-
Stop sign at Grove and Stone was replaced.
-
Pothole at Shore Dr. and Grove St. was filled in.
-
Park equipment upgrade was discussed. It was mentioned that the park equipment is antiquated, in some areas dangerous, and a liability. Research will continue to be done on the acquisition of new equipment. It was suggested to look into ways we can acquire things through grants or other resources. The park will be checked for equipment that may be not safe. These pieces will be taken out of service.
New Business:

Fill is needed for the back of the park. The area is soggy and sinking. It was suggested to wait until the area dries to fill it in. We will look into the proper material to use. It was suggested to look into the wetlands map to see where they are in the park before the fill is added

A request was made to replace the poster sign at Stone and Grove with a bigger one.

Connie Evans volunteered to create an informative flyer to distribute to all the homes.

Merilee Baker Dzierlatka was nominated for the position of vice-president.

The Granite Bay Association Board Meeting, June 7th, 2023
The annual Association meeting was called to order at 7:16pm with the following board members in attendance: Peter, Gary and Bob.
Before the minutes of previous meeting were read, Peter Bocciarelli announced that Judy Dube will be stepping down as GBA President.
Pete Bocciarelli read the minutes from our last annual meeting June of 2022.
The Secretary’s Report was accepted as read with no omissions or corrections.

OLD BUSINESS:

TRAFFIC ISSUES: Speed bumps, Slow signs and speed limit signs discussed. Also the issue of the missing stop sign at the corner of Grove and Stone street.

Kristen Russo has composed a letter that will be sent to public works, traffic commissioner. This was approved. It was also proposed that the more of us that call and report these issues could yield better results.

Also brought up – the speed “humps” on clark, can that be proposed for Grove Street

SOCIAL MEDIA: Website and Face Book - Kristen Russo reported that the Website would cost: $25 annually for the domain name and $16 a month to run the site.Yearly total for website is $217. FaceBook account (FREE) will also be created for Granite Bay to house information.Comments will be turned off.Our website name will also be added to the FB Page as well.
Email addresses were collected from the residents in attendance at the meeting.
Kristen Russo will develop both Website and FB page. This was approved.
NEW BUSINESS:

Raising Taxes from $40 to $50 was proposed for next Tax season. This was approved.

Proposal of committees: to start with – one for communication of the Website/Facebook possibly assist Kristen Russo with this task. Also one for reviewing and rewriting the GBA Bylaws.It was suggested that we seek a neighbor that is a lawyer that can review the bylaws as well.This will be looked into.

New Equipment for the Park – it was suggested that we research cost and availability of new equipment for the park. Possible input from community as to what they might want to see. Compile data – come up with a budget of what it will cost to improve the park and it was also suggested to hold fundraisers to help with the cost of any new improvements for the park.

It was brought to the Boards attention that someone painted pickleball lines on the basketball court. It was reiterated that there should be no alterations to the park without prior approval from the board. Maintenance will repair the basketball court and remove the pickleball lines.

Poison Ivy issue at Park -it is overgrowing by the picnic table.Maintenance will look at and treat accordingly.

Resident at 4 Grove street reported that the fence behind their home that borders back of park is rotted asked board to repair/replace that part of fence. Resident at 4 Grove street also asked permission to install gate (at residents expense) so they may have access to the park from their yard. Board Approved the new gate (at residents expense) and Board will repair the broken fence. Board will also repair existing gate that another resident reported as broken.

Large pot hole at beginning of Grove Street and the overgrown trees on Stone Street were reported. Residents were asked to call public works to report this – Board will also call – recommended that many calls could yield quicker results.\

New Trash cans. Need new one at Park. New cans should arrive between 6-1 and 7-1. Residents asked that the park can be marked. Also brought up, the town needs to empty the trash can at the park weekly. Residents were asked to call public works to report this – Board will also call – recommended that many calls could yield quicker results.

Motion put forward to Expand the Board and to fill some of the vacant positions.

Peter Bocciarelli was nominated for President. Vote passed and Peter Accepted position. He will also do the Taxes in the interim until a new Tax Collector is appointed.

Vivian Baker was nominated for Secretary. Vote passed and Vivian accepted position.

Patti Panaroni was nominated for Trustee. Vote passed and Patti accepted position. Our 3rd Trustee position is filled.

Open positions – VP and Tax collector.

Board to create a committee to restructure the bylaws. Seek possible legal council and possibly create a board position for them.
Present Board was elected to represent Association.
